General

What is Dordogne Collection?+

Dordogne Collection is a curated boutique holiday rental service featuring beautiful, personally selected holiday homes in the Dordogne, south-west France. Our focus is on personal service, quality properties and an exceptional holiday experience — no endless scrolling through listings.

How is Dordogne Collection different from other platforms?+

Unlike large platforms, Dordogne Collection is a small-scale service with a local presence. Every property is personally visited and assessed. Our acceptance rate is low, and we continuously review all properties for quality. You get a real person — not an algorithm.

Why choose the Dordogne?+

The Dordogne is renowned for its picturesque countryside, medieval villages, rivers, châteaux and world-famous gastronomy. It is a perfect destination for families, couples and groups — with a rare combination of beauty, history, outdoor life and culinary richness.

Payments

What are the payment terms?+

If your stay is more than 8 weeks away, you pay 50% on booking and the remaining 50% no later than 8 weeks before arrival. If your stay begins within 8 weeks of booking, 100% is due immediately. You will receive automatic payment reminders by email.

What payment methods are available?+

Bank transfer (free), iDEAL for Dutch customers (free), Bancontact for Belgian customers (free), credit card or PayPal (possible, but additional bank charges may apply). You choose the method that suits you best.

Is a security deposit required?+

Yes. A security deposit is held as security for the owner. Dordogne Collection manages the deposit and returns it within 5 working days of departure, provided everything is in order. In the event of any issues, we act as an independent mediator.

Cancellation & changes

Can I cancel my booking?+

The 14-day consumer right of withdrawal does not apply to holiday rental agreements. Our cancellation policy: up to 8 weeks before arrival, only the first payment is retained; within 8 weeks, 100% of the total rental amount is due. If we are able to re-let the property for your dates, you will be refunded minus costs incurred.

Do you recommend travel insurance?+

Yes, absolutely. We advise all guests to take out cancellation and/or travel insurance for unforeseen circumstances such as illness, travel disruptions or emergencies. We can help you choose an appropriate policy.

Can I change my booking details?+

Yes. For example the number of guests — as long as the new number does not exceed the maximum occupancy of the property. Please contact us by email for any changes. In some cases additional charges may apply.

Are pets allowed?+

Pets are only permitted if this has been expressly agreed at the time of booking. Each property has its own policy. Please check before booking if you are travelling with a pet — changes after booking are not possible without approval.

Can I transfer my booking to someone else?+

Yes, provided it is submitted in writing and approved by Dordogne Collection. Please contact us as early as possible if you wish to transfer your booking.

Arrival

What are the check-in and check-out times?+

Check-in is generally in the afternoon and check-out in the morning, in line with standard holiday rental practice to allow sufficient time for cleaning and preparation. Exact times are confirmed in your booking details and may vary by property.
