Noyer - Au Coin des Arbres

Noyer is a three-bedroom country gîte for five guests at Au Coin des Arbres, a small hamlet of self-catering gîtes set in meadows and woodland near Biron, in the Périgord Pourpre. Standalone and self-contained, the house turns inward to its own courtyard, with direct access to the local walking and cycling routes that thread the four acres of shared grounds.

Inside, a bright living room gathers around a wood-burning stove; electric radiators take over when the fire is out, while fans and blackout blinds hold the rooms cool through high summer. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering: dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, coffee maker, a full set of dishes and wine glasses, a dining table to sit around. Two of the three bedrooms carry zip-and-link beds that configure as a double or twins; the third is a single. There is one family bathroom with a rain shower, plus a separate WC alongside. Fibre wifi runs throughout, with a smart TV and board games for slower evenings.

Outdoor life happens on the gîte's own covered terrace, set under a pergola with an outdoor shower and a Weber barbecue, looking out across open countryside. A table-tennis table waits for the afternoons. The hamlet's shared 13 m by 7 m infinity pool, open from May to September, lies a short walk away: sun loungers, a pool house, a poolside dining terrace, all behind a safety fence.

Bergerac airport is a 40-minute drive. The Château de Biron stands 2 km off, a 30-minute walk through the woods; the medieval bastide of Monpazier, with its 13th-century arcaded square and Thursday morning market, is a 10-minute drive. The Dordogne valley opens up within an hour: canoeing rivers, vineyards, prehistoric caves.
